“Upward Sports has created an opportunity for me to bond with my kids. I coached my son’s first soccer season. We had fun, they learned new skills, teamwork and gained self-confidence.”

An Upward Sports experience is an excellent experience for your family.

Upward Sports was founded in 1995 out of a desire for the church to meet the needs of families in the community. By focusing on the sports experience and the whole person, a church can help participants grow mentally, athletically, spiritually, and socially.

The sports experience you will find provided by a local church helps participants learn a sport and learn for life by understanding God’s plan for their life.

PLAY

All children deserve opportunities to be active, learn, and have fun!

WHOLE PERSON

The whole athlete is engaged in learning a sport and knowledge from God that applies to life.

FUN

Playing a sport is about having fun while learning the fundamentals to gain confidence.

HEALTHY COMPETITION

Playing a sport is about giving your best effort during competition while respecting your opponents, coaches, and officials.

You will find coaches who take the time to teach beginners and challenge those with experience to reach their full potential. Coaches understand a bigger picture and demonstrate how Jesus can change and guide our lives.

No matter where you are in life, we want to serve you and provide the best experience for you and your family.

Key aspects of Upward Soccer evaluations:

  • Purpose:

To fairly place players on teams and ensure a positive and balanced experience for all participants.

  • What to expect:

Players will participate in drills, such as kicking, dribbling, and agility exercises.

  • No tryouts:

Upward Soccer does not hold tryouts. Evaluations are not tests, but rather a way to gather information to create balanced teams.

  • Focus on skill development:

Evaluations help coaches tailor practices to address individual player needs and foster improvement.

  • No need to be perfect:

All players will be placed on a team, regardless of their skill level.

  • Positive and encouraging environment:

Upward emphasizes sportsmanship and character development alongside soccer skills.

  • Flexibility:

Evaluations are usually held on multiple days to accommodate busy schedules, and some programs offer make-up evaluations.
