I'm New Here: What Can I Expect?

Gospel Baptist Church is a church focused on the mission of exalting the Lord and His Word. We seek to do this by evangelism, education, and encouragement.

When should I arrive?

We have two identical services: 9:15 AM & 10:45 AM. On Sunday Mornings we have coffee available if you want to grab a cup before the service And if you have kids, we suggest arriving a few minutes early for childcare check-in. 10-15 minutes will be plenty of time.

What should I expect on my first visit?

Expect to find friendly people, great worship, and encouraging messages. Our people are always excited to see guests and offer a warm welcome. Our worship is blended in style, consisting of hymns and praise songs. Our messages are Bible-based and relevant to daily living. If you would like to meet our senior pastor, Paul Luttrell, he will be in the lobby after each service.

What should I wear?

People come to church in a variety of different styles. Anything from suits and dresses to jeans and t-shirts. We really aren't particular about what you wear, we are just glad to have you join us!

How do I become a Christian?

• Understand that you have sinned and are in need of God's forgiveness (Rom. 3:23) • Repent of (i.e. turn away from) your sins and ask God to forgive you (Acts 2:38) • Accept that Jesus Christ's death and resurrection is the only adequate payment for your sin debt to God (1 Tim. 2:5) • Submit to Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior (Rom. 10:9-10) If you are genuinely sincere in seeking God's forgiveness and want to have an intimate relationship with Him, pray the following prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you for loving me, even though I am a sinner and have fallen short of your expectations. I know that there is no way that I can merit my favor before you. I accept your gift of forgiveness through the death and resurrection of your son, Jesus Christ. I ask that you forgive me of my sins. I ask that you become my personal Lord and Savior, Amen. If you prayed this prayer, please let us know!

What do you believe?

The inspiration of the Bible, both Old and New Testament; the creation of man by the direct act of God; that everyone is born a sinner; the incarnation and virgin birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; His identification as the Son of God: His deity; vicarious atonement of the sins of mankind by the shedding of His blood on the cross; His bodily resurrection from the tomb; His power to save men from sin; the new birth through regeneration by the Holy Spirit; the gift of eternal life by the grace of God, received through faith in Christ; the rapture of the Church; the visible and personal return of Christ; the eternal doom of the lost, and the eternal blessedness of the redeemed.
