August Connect: Note From Pastor Paul & Karen
As we thank God for this special body of believers at GBC, we think of these verses below. We pray that these verses will be a blessing to you as you study and meditate on them.
“For as the body is one and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many…But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him…But now are they many members, yet but one body…Now ye are the body of Christ and members in particular.” (The word particular means “part” – individually - each of us with our own special purpose and function. So, each of you are important and we are thankful for each of you.) I Corin. 12: 12-27
The word “symbiosis” is a mutually beneficial relationship between different people or groups. This is a word for community. Aren’t you thankful for your GBC community!? God has put us together to serve Him. We need each other.
In times of difficulty, our church family becomes even more important and more of a blessing to each other. Be encouraged today that you belong to this family (body) of believers!
Scripture to encourage you:
“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Col. 3:15-17
Much Love and Many Prayers for all of you, Pastor Paul and Karen
