A Note from a Pastor
For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth: so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth to all the nations. Isaiah 61:11
Spring forth! How we rejoice in this beautiful time of year and how God our Creator blesses us with such beauty! We are thankful for the new life that the season of Spring brings to us! The daffodils, crocuses, colorful tulips, the green grass and buds on the trees, demand our focus and appreciation of Him. Let’s spring forth in praise and thankfulness.
Spring reminds us of life, not only of His creation and blessings on us, but Spring reminds us of the core of our faith which is manifested in the resurrected life of Jesus Christ! He is alive! How exciting! We hear songs about Christmas being “the most wonderful time of the year” and we agree that it is a very special time. But this time of the year is when we celebrate the resurrection of Christ who gives us hope for the future and assurance of our own resurrection one day!
The final and greatest proof of Christ’s absolute uniqueness is His resurrection. Christ chose to die on the cross to pay for each of our sins. Christ predicted this when He said that “He had the power to lay His life down and He had the power to take it up again” in John 10:17, 18. After three days Christ arose from the dead! As Christians, we worship a “living” Lord but all other religious founders or leaders are dead. Christ alone conquered death, which clearly shows that Christ is exactly who He said He was, “the resurrection and the life.” It is Christ’s resurrection that gives us hope in life, the realization that we have nothing to fear, and the assurance that we will see Christ again and live with Him for eternity.
“He is not here: for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. Then go quickly and tell His disciples: He has risen from the dead...” Matthew 28:6, 7
Let’s “spring forth” in newness of life, serving our risen redeemer in a purposeful and faith filled way and in a way that draws others to Christ!
Let’s “spring forth” and be intentional about teaching our children about the living Christ, His love for us, His plan for each of us and His Word.
Let’s “spring forth” and be faithful to church services and Bible studies in this new season!
Let’s “spring forth” in prayer for our homes, our church, our schools, our community and our nation.
Let’s “spring forth” in a commitment to work to see new life in our church as we teach, preach and reach out to our community with the wonderful gospel of a living Savior.
Let’s “spring forth” in worship, thanksgiving and praise of our One, True, Living, Creator God!
Let’s “spring forth” in an endeavor to stay focused, grow in our relationship with the LORD and learn to trust Him more every day.
We pray that each of you (our church family) will be blessed and will enjoy this amazing season as you serve your risen Savior!
We love you!
