Vital Youth Ministries

Register online for Vial Youth Events We have a growing youth ministry here made up of 6th through 12th grade. This ministry includes Sunday School every Sunday at 9:45am. The Middle School meets in room 201 and the High School meets in room 202. The teens also meet every Wednesday night at 6:45pm in the youth room for games and Bible study. The teens are involved every year in various activities and outings as well as summer camp. The youth ministry is led by our youth pastor, Matt Smith. Matt has been the full-time youth pastor here since July 2008. Along with Matt, there are many other volunteers who help every week and are so important to the success of our youth ministry. Our purpose statement: "Vital Youth Ministries exists to reach non-believing students with the gospel, connect them with other Christians, help them grow in Christ-likeness, and serve others through ministry all to glorify God."

College & Career

Our College & Career Ministry exists to carry out the purposes given to the church in Scripture. These purposes involve upreach, inreach, and outreach. We are called to reach up to God and develop our relationship with Him, reach in to other believers and grow in Christlikeness, and reach out to unbelievers and share the gospel message of hope with them. Our Sunday School class focuses on the middle of these three—inreach. Our class is discussion based so we can learn from each other as we look into God’s Word together. We meet in Room 108 at 9:45 every Sunday where you will find us with our Bibles, coffee, and donuts.

Covenant Hearts

Covenant Hearts is a fellowship for singles and married couples, with their children between the ages of ~35 to 55. The purpose is to bring together singles and couples, of similiar ages, in a more personal setting to encourage each other through, friendships, fellowship, and faith.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 - Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

Various fellowships and outreach projects are scheduled approximately every six weeks throughout the year! Mailings, the church bulletin, and the web site will keep you up to date for all fellowship and service outings.

Women's Ministry

We have two Sunday School Classes for women only. One class is for our senior ladies & is taught by Melba Atkins. The other class is The Joyful Woman Class & is taught by Karen Luttrell. This class is for any of the ladies starting at college age and up. Besides our Sunday school classes, we enjoy monthly Fellowships, Ladies Conferences, an Exercise class and our annual Ladies Conference that we sponsor. We also enjoy taking meals to ladies getting out of the hospital.

Monthly Ladies Bible Study

There will be no Monthly Ladies Bible Study for June, July or August. We will start back again in September.

Men's Ministry

Besides many opportunities for service, our men enjoy Men's fellowships, including a Prayer breakfast several times a year and a monthly Bible Study, which meets the last Tuesday of each month. A lot of our men participate in the various church teams and recreations such as the golf, bowling, and softball leagues. The Men's only Sunday School class is taught by Adrian Whitley. Other men enjoy the auditorium class taught by Harlie Miller or the Berean Bible class taught by Tim Varney and Don Reardon.

Super Seniors Ministry

Everyone wants to be a part of this group but you may be too young! This is only for Senior Citizens! (You may be considered for this group if you are not a senior citizen but are married to a senior citizen, are a grandparent or can think of another good reason to be a part.) This group enjoys monthly fellowships and or trips. We usually go on two overnight trips a year, some include two nights away.

Worship Ministry

The Purpose of the Worship Ministry of Gospel Baptist Church is above all to glorify God. Our aim is to use music and other creative expressions of worship to bring honor to the Lord and by doing so, provide a platform upon which the church body can be unified together in corporate worship to the Lord. The most viable, consistent expression of worship in which we as a worship ministry engage the church is during church celebration gatherings, i.e. Sunday Morning Worship. We represent a wide variety of musical styles, however we carefully select songs that are biblically sound and enrich believers’ corporate worship. We have a multiple-faceted ministry including the following teams: Adult Worship Choir, Children and Junior Choirs, Praise Teams, Worship Bands, Special Singers, Worship Technology Teams, and Drama Team. If you are interested in getting information on how you too can get connected with one of these exciting teams in the growing Worship Ministry of Gospel Baptist Church, please contact Pastor Joel.

Recreation Ministry

Our recreation ministry is for the purpose of fellowship and exercise. Some of the activities include: Men's softball leagues, Volleyball league, Basketball challenge, Captain's choice golf tournament, Bowling, Ladies Fitness Class & Open gym.

Upward Sports

Upward sports is a first-class sports experience that emphasizes healthy competition, sportsmanship, skills building and fun versus the "win at all costs" mentality prevalent in many of the children sports leagues found today. Founded on the value that "Every child is a winner" and that winning is about so much more than the final score, teaching players the sport specific skills as well as sportsmanship.
